When having two powers makes you a Super and having none makes you a Normal, having only one makes you a sad half-superpowered freak.

It makes you a One.

Sixteen-year-old Merrin Grey would love to be able to fly – too bad all she can do is hover.

If she could just land an internship at the Biotech Hub, she might finally figure out how to fix herself. She busts her butt in AP Chem and salivates over the Hub’s research on the manifestation of superpowers, all in hopes of boosting her chances.

Then she meets Elias VanDyne, another One, and all her carefully crafted plans fly out the window. Literally. When the two of them touch, their Ones combine to make them fly, and when they’re not soaring over the Nebraska cornfields, they’re busy falling for each other.

Merrin's mad chemistry skills land her a spot on the Hub's internship short list, but as she gets closer to the life she always wanted, she discovers that the Hub’s purpose is more sinister than it has always seemed. Now it’s up to her to decide if it's more important to fly solo, or to save everything - and everyone - she loves.

First of all, I'd like to give a super warm hug (virtually) on LeighAnn Kopans for giving me an eARC. It means a lot to me everytime authors gives me a chance to read their books ahead of the publication date. Because I felt that somehow I became an earlier part of the book which makes me feel awesome. The reason I became so eager to read it, its about POWER. Not just an ordinary superpowers like I've read in other books but it feels like Sky High meets X-Men. I feel like I could engage on reading more about biotechnology and at the same time, love.

ONE is narrated from the point of view of Merrin Grey. A teenager who dreams on flying up above in the sky and to be on top. She got all what it takes when it comes to academics, a clever girl who never tries to surrender just because of being a One. From the moment that she discovered that her second power seems not to manifest, she was transferred into Nelson High. To be present on Nelson High, she felt outcast at first, but at some twisted fate she bumped into Elias.

Meeting Elias VanDyne was never a part of her plan to discover and unveil her true power of being a One. But Elias is a man who never knows on giving up on a girl that he likes. Merrin was overwhelmed on how Elias can figure out all of her needs and aspirations on having a power to fly all by herself. Elias felt Merrin in all ways on dreaming to reach for the sky and to stay like that forever. Two characters but they have different ways to unveil their powers but by spiral events, their power met Oneness on each other. Making them powerful and inevitable.

Together with their friends, Leni and Daniel, they learned to control and be independent on letting themselves to drift away for their true nature. That is to become powerful despite of being One. But President Fisk, a pioneers of the Biotech Hub, they will realize that forcing a power to ignite could lead into darkness and oblivion, and much worse, death. Merrin and Elias will do everything to save all of their family and friends from the malevolent plans of President Fisk for the Supers and One.

Wow! Reading One can give readers a full on insight of what it feels like to have superpowers. Merrin is a character that was made to have an infinite courage to surpass all of her problems of being a One. I loved how she never gets tired on practicing to discover if her power can take her higher more than she ever dreamed of. Another one that I appreciate on her personality from the course of the story, It's her unconditional love for her family, friends and at the same time for Elias. Even though she was faced on a crucial situation to choose between them, she still got a composure to stand brave and dominate President Fisk.

Elias VanDyne, oh my, how can I explain this. A blue-eyed man and with those glasses? You'll find yourself smiling everytime he reaches to be with Merrin. I devoured his loyalty and unconditional love on Merrin. Another trait of him that I loved, his devotion for her sisters. He sees their struggles and happiness at the same time. He knows every pain that her sisters felt and he feels it in every bit of ways.

Biotech Hub is all that I've ever dreamed to be present as I was reading the book. It is made of perfection. LeighAnn Kopans created it to take the readers into the clear scene of what it feels like to be supervised with all of the characters powers. The symposium is one thing that I highly dreamed to be included within the story.

At some point, I do understand President Fisk but not in a devil-ish way. Because from the moment that he realized about being a One from his son, he endlessly seeks for an answer to solve all of it. What kind of father who wouldn't want his son to be powerful and brave, right? But it leads into desperation resulting into deep darkness for all other Ones. Its tragical in all ways. I admired how LeighAnn Kopans described how every discovery of a person's true nature could lead into oblivion of life.

One can mentally guide its readers to have a visit of what it feels like to possess a power that could lead into happiness or destruction. It's prevails a high rate of showing a powerful motivation to move forward and discover the characters true nature. You might want to grip your copies ahead once you're at the end of the book. Because this book can take the readers high in all possible ways.

From this point Merrin and Elias have a message for the readers:

Yeah, I know that my review may not give you a sufficient image of this powerful and mind-boggling book. So by fortunate circumstances, LeighAnn Kopans will give you a sneak peek, mind you guys this is a comic strip and its awesome!

I don't want to spoil this mushy and powerful discovery of Merrin and Elias any further within this point. But just to give you some highlights of this teaser, its an event wherein Merrin and Elias got a glimpse of their true power of their Oneness and how it can solve all of their questions that can lead them to give new hope and dream for other Ones.
