Clockwork Princess

I've been waiting (patiently) for this book. I know everyone of the fandom are definitely hyped when it was released. Who wouldn't want to grip on such a high-stake and thrilling events of The Infernal Devices, right? 

Clockwork Princess caught me in every ways. I devoured all of it. It is such a great ending for a beautiful and tragical start of The Infernal Devices. It somehow justify all of the things that I wanted to know. I've been craving to know exactly. 

Clockwork Princess continued after Jem proposes to Tessa. At the same time, Will realized that there never a curse that has been made to him. It was fascinating and tragical to think how it will continue, right? As the story strives on searching to stop Mortmain and his automatons, Jem, Will and Tessa struggle in the midst of their emotions. It stumbles together. But Will is still determined to protect Tessa at all cost. Even if she is not "his Tessa". On the other hand, Jem is hiding his pain on surviving for the sake of Tessa, but of course, consuming a large amount of yin fen will shorten his life even more. Jem always has an undeniable passion to move on and live for Tessa even just for a while. As for Tessa, she was oblivious from all of it. 

Until by twisted fate of the three, Mortmain invaded their lives (again) taking large supplies of yin fen. Then it sparks a flame that will ablaze the fate of Will, Tessa, Jem and the reign of Shadowhunters.

Damn, it never fails to creep me out everytime Will stands up for Tessa and at the same time to Jem who always sees the strength to be with her. It's unfortunate if these young men will torn their hearts apart for the same girl they love, and at the same time it's fortunate to think how their strength unites to protect her. (Sorry if that statement seems to confuse you.) 

I loved how Cassandra Clare entwined the hearts of these three from the beginning up to the very end of the series. She has her own unique way on making the story very romantic yet full of thrill and suspense. 

The Victorian London is one of the setting that I totally devoured on this book. In the Clockwork Princess, it is a whole lot darker and dangerous to live in and I enjoyed how the characters moves alongside of it. 

As I was reading this book, another thing that I totally gripped is the twisted love stories of the couples. Sophie and Gideon Lightwood. GIDEON LIGHTWOOD! (Please marry me!) Though they are in the middle of the chaos of the possible destruction of Shadowhunters, their feelings were never faltered. I loved how they stand and hold on to each other. Isn't what love makes people do? To be brave in the midst of darkness. Another one are Cecily and Gabriel Lightwood. I loved how Cecily whole-heartedly trust Gabriel. Even though Gabriel's past was dark and full of betrayal, Cecily still trust that there is still a large amount of faith for Gabriel to change. Clockwork Princess supplied all of my needs and wants that can make me realize how unconditional love can move every people in the middle of destruction.

Overall, Clockwork Princess brings an expedition of suspense, courage, responsibility and romance. It creates a feeling of contentment to every readers that all of their questions and expectation were all met in this final book. And one thing is for sure, The Infernal Devices is a series that I will keep on reading over and over again. I will always come back for the characters that I loved.
