“Did I lose you?"
"Never.”

The day when Goodreads view the next book of Mitch Albom, I am very delighted that I can read another book of him. I've read almost all of his book and it always end up with a tearshed. His books are full of virtues and it is also an eye-opener for me. Knowing the title, I was jumping out of joy because I know that Mitch Albom will definitely amuse me.

The starting point of the novel captivated me. A call from a dead sister saying that she's fine in heaven is simply surreal. Of course in fiction, such things are possible. But in real life, some says that it was just a plain figment of their imagination or emotions are pretty bolted with so much loss. Whatever the reasons may be, I'm sure that the loss of a loved one cannot be measured in time on how they can moved on with it. That's what glided on my mind even from the start. I was curious with the source of phone calls or whatever cell sites the souls of the dead used to communicate with the living. Now this part is cannot be easily explained at all right at that point.

The characters that were chosen to receive phone calls have different sorrows. But most of all the I noticed, it's the guilt. Their minds are clouded with "what if's" and "if only's" and then my heart paraded with so much sadness. So painful. It feels unbearable. Because they can hear their voices yet they can't see them. They were imagining that their loved ones were all in a beautiful and peaceful place. And that feeling is a mix of pain and happiness.

There were a series of doubts and judgements that arises in the middle of it. Almost all of them were questioning if their faith is fooling them around. Another stab of pain. Investigations were done but mysteries remained at the end. How come it all happen to certain people. Why not all? Those were one of the main questions to the people. Then suddenly it became one of the most phenomenal area to the public. Who wouldn't be happy if at one point there is an evidence of the voices through heaven, right? Until they were all surrounded by media and at that point I really felt how people nowadays seek for the truth between faith and science. It is truly an amazing art to see how the characters were slowly finding their way to show that God is watching over them, seeing all of their deeds and the way Heaven feels like.

At the end of it, I felt the closeness of a family, friend, and son. Reading The First Phone Call from Heaven is not just about faith and God, it is also about believing and acting the way how truth will lead a character into reality. This is another masterpiece of Mitch Albom and I am thankful that he had a chance to visit and signed our books 2 months ago.
