"It's just what happens when you've led a privileged life. You think the world owes you everything"

The Black City trilogy is one of the books that I didn't expect to have so much impact on me. I mean, there are some books that really did made an impact but not on the way this trilogy did to me. The first and second book (Black City and Phoenix) were an ultimate cliffhanger to me. At the end of those two books, my mind keeps on thinking what happened at the end of the characters.

Black City ended Ash being burned in front of people because of a treason he never did attempt. You see, even from the first book I was automatically hooked up with it. By that time, I keep on waiting patiently for the second book, Phoenix. Then it was another cliffhanger. So I was desperate to read how this series will end.

Throughout the series there are characters that really pisses me off. Purian Rose is the topmost on my list and the second is Sebastian. Everytime I remember the gruesome acts they did, my blood is boiling with so much anger. Which definitely shows how Elizabeth Richards creates the character with its wholeness. And I'm really like, WOW! Seriously. That's the only word I can think about right now.

On Wings, it was really felt like bringing back everything what happened on Black City and Phoenix. Natalie and Ash narrated all at once with the key events from there and it totally helped me a lot to be back on sync from the series. Because I really admit that the sequels that I read always comes out a year after and it makes me forget the events. So when these two, Natalie and Ash brought me back onto those events, I had mixed emotions. I was hurt and I felt angry at the same time. I always feel pain whenever Natalie remembers what happened to her sister.

Last book of Black City Trilogy is another whirlwind of fire. Every chapter were flaming with so much anger, love, hate and revenge. They were seriously became a vendetta in the public. Accusations were labeled to them and I am fascinated with the fact how these characters are able to cope up with proving themselves in front of the public and showing them who has the right to rule Black City.

Wings didn't just became a battle between Darklings, Humans, Lupines and innocents, it suddenly became a tornado of complications. I realized how it all started, how love vanished in pain in front of him and the feeling is excruciating. I admit I'm still weighing the scales towards my feelings to Purian Rose because of what he'd done. To add more of this, I am simply amazed with the sacrifices that Natalie and Ash would do for each other. The sacrifices they've decided were very risky and can easily take their lives but inspite all of it, they are willing to do what it takes to save each other.

Wings is undeniably the ending I didn't expect. It ended with a gigantic boom of storm on me. Elizabeth Richards made an exceptional and justifiable ending for Purian Rose, Ash, Natalie and other characters. It made me realize I really wanted more from this characters because I can't easily let go with them. It's really a worthwhile ending.
