The Unbecoming of Mara Dyer leaves a huge cliffhanger from the readers. It encompasses all mystery and tragedy. The moment the first book ended, I was very desperate to know how Jude survived the accident in the asylum. So now on the next book, The Evolution of Mara Dyer, it gives a whole new impact on me. I even LOVED and DEVOURED the second book. It welcomes me into another obstacle of Mara and Noah. The story gives me an infinite chill and thrill with every chapters. Her (Michelle Hodkin) words and figure of speech may leave you wondering how on earth can they have achieved or acquired those abilities.

The characters enveloped into a new kind of feelings of maturity and responsibility. It also shows a deep connection of Mara's unconditional love to her family and to Noah. Mara desperately seeks for an answer to all of her ability. By the time that I read it from the first chapter, I never realized the time because with every thoughts of Mara, all of her struggles and secrecy of her true identity it makes me want to turn the page even more. I was even more intrigued when it alternates into another time which is in India. I'm not yet entirely sure (but I think it is). It suddenly traverse me from another time and place but it never left me behind on the main part of the story. On the other hand, Noah Shaw, he just became more endearing and irresistible young man. Its not just because the way Michelle Hodkin portrays him, I was utterly in loved with his devotion and obligation to protect Mara. I have never read such a young man at the age of seventeen to be that expressive and emotional to only one girl. Noah sees Mara the way it is. It is a blissful moment to read their emotions.

One thing that made this novel suddenly became my most favorite dark and sensual novel, the part wherein they're in the isolated island together with no other than Jude. Its totally scary to think that it was all planned carefully. Mara and Noah showed bravery and courage to fight Jude and at the same time save their friends.

Overall, The Evolution of Mara Dyer surrounds every dark sides of memories that can make readers grip a hold on the book to ask for more. It will indulge you to uttermost romance of the characters on overcoming their fear and to solve the mystery beyond those memories.

P.S.
It is BEST if you read this in NIGHTTIME. You'll be surprised how much it is scarier and darker than the first book, but you'll feel you just can't stop to turn every page.
